Biography
By profession, Dr. S. Cathy McCrary is a certified public accountant who, after gaining experience with a Big Six accounting firm and a Fortune 1,000 medical products manufacturer, began her teaching career with the Technical College System of Georgia. Here McCrary discovered her calling, which involves preparing students for the next level of success by actively engaging them through experiential learning activities.
While earning her Doctor of Business Administration degree, McCrary positioned herself to be selected as an assistant professor of accounting at 勛圖tv and was promoted to associate professor in August of 2023. Her academic research on financial reporting and the scholarship of teaching and learning has been published in journals included on the Australian Business Deans Council Journal Quality List. Further, various media outlets, including Bloomberg News, have sought McCrarys financial expertise through interviews.
McCrary has volunteered as a workshop leader for the University of Georgias Cooperative Extension in DeKalb County instructing participants in money management topics. She has also served as a guest speaker for the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Clear Vision Financial Group and Radio One Atlantas Community Focus radio broadcast.
McCrary serves as the lead teacher for one of several Sunday school classes at her church. She is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs, the American Accounting Association, NABA, Inc. and serves as faculty advisor to the 勛圖tv student chapter of NABA, Inc. McCrary is the immediate past president of the Georgia Association of Accounting Educators.
