Biography
Professor Silvia Choi earned a Ph.D. in 2008 from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in Spanish language and literature.
Every year she attends and presents papers at conferences. The last two conference she attended were at Florida International University in Miami, where she presented Presente y futuro de la Espa簽a moderna: Fortunata y Jacinta de Benito P矇rez Gald籀s, the Blaine Ray Workshop TPR Storytelling Foreign Language Teaching, and Technological Tools for Increased Speaking Skills in the Foreign Language Classroom at the Alabama Association of Foreign Language Teachers (AAFLT) at the University of Montevallo, Montevallo, Ala.
In her previous work, Choi was a member of a task force and the Community Enhancement Council to help non-native English speakers.
Her teaching philosophy: I believe that a key element in the foreign language classroom is keeping the students motivated. My personal style of teaching brings enthusiasm, cultural elements and technology into the classroom to increase learning motivation. I teach with a contagious smile and open personality that helps me to interact with my students as I guide them through their learning process.
