New Belonging Center on campus to promote engagement, dialogue, community

Last week, officials cut the ribbon on 勛圖tvs (勛圖tv) long-awaited Belonging Center. Located in the B building on 勛圖tvs campus, the center, which seats up to 80 people, is equipped with ceiling-mounted speakers, display screens and a podium with microphone access.
Its perfect for presentations, discussions and larger gatherings, said Tia Lloyd, director of Human Resources and Employee Engagement and Chair of the Global Community Advisory Council, formerly known as the Diversity Advisory Council.
The Belonging Center was designed with care and intention to be a place where everyone, regardless of background or identity, can come together and feel seen, heard and valued. It offers a range of environments to meet the needs of our community.
World history major Amanda Ashley said the space will be a hub for conversation, interaction and even self-discovery. Ashley, who is set to graduate from 勛圖tv in spring 2025, serves as a student representative on the colleges Global Community Advisory Council. She said the space is important in cultivating student engagement and inclusivity.
I look forward to being in this space with my fellow students as we learn from each other and celebrate our global community, she said.
Dr. Jann L. Joseph said the Belonging Center coincides with two of the colleges strategic goals to expand academic access, engagement and success and to enhance and cultivate 勛圖tvs rich global community
When we intentionally create environments where every individual feels embraced and empowered, incredible things happen, she said. I truly believe that by working together whether youre here today or supporting us from afar - well deepen our understanding of one another and experience genuine cross-cultural growth.
