勛圖tv names new provost after national search
勛圖tv (勛圖tv) President Jann L. Joseph announced today that Dr. George S. Low has been selected as 勛圖tvs new senior vice president for academic and student affairs and provost. In that role, he will use his rich experience to further enhance the colleges strong foundation of academic excellence. His collaborative style will blend with current leadership to support student success with a focus on degree completion. He will assume his duties in mid-January 2021.
To say that I am excited to welcome Dr. Low to the 勛圖tv leadership team is an understatement, said Joseph. His diverse experience in higher education over the past three decades will be an asset to 勛圖tv and the community. With great experience in new and enhanced academic programs, strategic planning, marketing and branding, student affairs leadership, management and fiscal oversight, along with advancement and external relations, he is perfectly suited for this important leadership role at 勛圖tv. His understanding of 勛圖tv, our mission and vision, and our diverse student body will enable him to serve the institution well.

Low comes to 勛圖tv from California State University (CSU), East Bay, Hayward, where he serves as the dean of the College of Business and Economics and professor of marketing. There, he encouraged the revitalization of the entrepreneurship concentration, to increase the entrepreneurship ecosystem on that campus and build strong links to the thriving technology sector in the Bay Area. Low also led the revision of the College of Business and Economics Strategic Plan for 2020-2025. At CSU, East Bay, he worked collaboratively with leadership to allocate an annual operating budget of $15 million to align with strategic plan priorities and improve outcomes across programs and departments.
The founder of the Student Advisory Board in the CSU, East Bay College of Business and Economics, he also supported the development of a new first-year experience course for incoming students to encourage engagement, retention and timely graduation. He was also part of the academic affairs leadership team that designed a new holistic student advising model in support of these same goals.
Before his service at CSU, East Bay, Low was the dean of the College of Business and Economics at Radford University, Radford, Virginia where he led the development of a comprehensive implementation blueprint for the colleges five-year strategic plan in collaboration with faculty, department chairs, program directors and associate dean.
Low also served as associate dean of undergraduate studies and international programs in the Neeley School of Business, Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas. In that role, Low chaired a faculty committee that developed a comprehensive strategy and plan for international programs in the Neeley School of Business.
Additionally, Low served in various roles at the University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, Texas, the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah.
Low earned his doctorate in business administration from the University of Colorado-Boulder, his masters degree in business administration at the University of Western Ontario, and his bachelors degree in advertising from Brigham Young University.
