Several information technology (IT) majors came home with national awards from the 2025 U.S. Information Technology Collegiate Conference (USITCC), held recently in Springfield, Missouri.

While �Թ�tv (�Թ�tv) has a years-long tradition of winning national awards and championships at this competition, this year’s group distinguished themselves by winning awards in every competition they entered.

Dr. Jessica Estep, professor of English, was named one of 16 Governor's Teaching Fellows (GTF) for the 2025-2026 , provided through the University of Georgia's Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education.

Dr. Misael Romero-Reyes, assistant professor of chemistry, was selected for a Leadership Development Award by the Younger Chemists Committee (YCC) of the American Chemical Society (ACS). This prestigious award included participation in the YCC Leadership Development Workshop, held in conjunction with the recent in Houston, Texas.
